What would be the one thing, if anything, that you would refuse to do for someone you love?

Asked by iammia (1405points) September 9th, 2010

We all say that we would do anything for our loved ones.

But is there something, some situation, that would stop you from crossing that line for another?

What is it?

I definitely would not kill for them.

I wouldn’t stop being who I am, and try to be someone else (sounds awful, I know but some of my “loved ones” want me to be different than I really am)

I would never violate any of my morals. It would take too long to list each thing I would not do, but I am not prepared to make myself a lesser person for their sake because then I would not be the same person that they love, and I would have lost everything – love, respect and integrity. Nothing else matters.

Go to work in a peek-a-boo bra crotchless knickers & nowt else. Whilst holding a sign claiming I like to blow goats. Not going to happen.Besides she knows very well I only wear knickers on a Sunday evening & only then when i’m going out to shoot some pool with my mates. I mean come on!! :¬)

@ucme What about without the sign? Go on…:P

I wouldn’t commit a crime for them, you know, unless I was going to commit that crime anyway so then what the hell?

ucme's avatar

@iammia Well if she’d throw in a nice pair of Jimmy Choo’s i’d more than likely be tempted ;¬}

I would not get in a pit of snakes for them. Nope. Not happening.

I wouldn’t abet them in any crime, or help them cover one up. When it comes to causing harm to other people they would be held to the same standard as everyone else. The only difference might be that I would call them out once before turning them in and give them one change to make it right (considering it can BE made right, and is no irrevocable, like murder).

I wouldn’t change who I am for my husband. He fell in love with me just as I am and that’s who I will remain to be.

amazonstorm's avatar

I would not break the law for them. At all. Even out of desperation. Sometimes, there’s only so far you can go.

nailpolishfanatic's avatar

kill for them or kill myself or robbe someone

I would never say that I would do anything for a loved one. There are many things that I would not do, and they all are violations of my own code of ethics.

harple's avatar

Hopefully, if they love me, they would know me well enough, and wouldn’t dream of asking me to do anything that I wouldn’t do :-)

Eat a booger. I’ll kill, steal, crossdress, burn books, become a witch, run naked through the grocery store, abuse the postal system….. but I draw the line at eating boogers.

I would not kill for my loved one.

For those who said they would not kill, would you reconsider if you could kill someone who had abducted and tortured your loved one while you rescued them?
