I am a photo three student and I have to come up with theme to take multiple shoots of during each quarter of the school year. What do you think are some good themes, whether concrete or abstract? Also, what do you think are cliche themes, so I can stay away from them?
Thanks. :D

I had a phase where I’d take pictures of wood in its different forms, like tree bark, parquet floors, etc.
I don’t know why, but for some reason If I were you… My theme would be.. people with hats on.
Shoes, that people are wearing.
I’m a nature nut and used to photograph birds.
Maybe a fall shoot, leaves on water, squirrels, trees, sky, the changing season.
Textures.
Universes within universes.
Illusions.
Some kind of still shot series would be easy, especially if it’s in a light controlled studio.
I think it really depends on what you find most interesting to take photos of. I take studio shots for the paycheck, not because im interested in people. When I’m taking photos for my own personal growth in photography, I try to focus on subjects, objects, settings, etc that interest me even when I don’t have a camera.
For example, I have a strong interest in exploring places that people dont generally go. Behind buildings, rooms on campus that most students at my college don’t really see. I got into it when I worked for different retail businesses and I got to see a lot of behind-the-scenes places.
So I guess that would be a pretty cool idea!
Photograph what you eat every day.
