Are there any websites similar to Amazon Mechanical Turk?

Asked by omg_dung (150points) September 10th, 2010

I want to do internet work like the stuff on Mechanical Turk (https://www.mturk.com/mturk/welcome), but I’m only 14 and you need to be 18 to work there… Any suggestions?

What the hell is that? I feel like I just stumbled on some alternate universe. Has anyone actually used this site? Can you actually make money doing that stuff?

Why would anyone want to do tasks that pay 2 cents to 5 cents? What kind of a life is that?
You can always be a ChaCha guide, answering questions that are often moronic and often obscene for 2 cents an answer.
Or you can click on ads for one or two cents a click so people selling SEO can say that their clients’ hits are up [beware this is illegal] A hit often costs the client a buck. you get a penny. Guess who is making out like a bandit?
Knock yourself out.
This all seems like internet slave labor.

@anartist Not that you’re really interested, but ChaCha actually dropped their rates from 3 cents to something that ended up being less than a penny a question. I signed up right after they switched from a flat fee to a money pot that they divided amongst everyone.

@omg_dung I think all the sites I know of require you to be 18.
