Is this a certain disorder?
For instance, if a girl looks in a mirror and feels the need to HAVE to change her hair color, or has to cut her hair, or change something about her appearance because its never pretty enough for her. Is this a disorder?

Not necessarily, but they could possibly be a narcissist or histrionic.
I was terrified that when I clicked on this there would be some picture of a gnarly rash. Thank Google it isn’t.
Anyway, virtually any personality trait is (or can be) a disorder if one engages in it to the point where it interferes with their ability to live a “normal” life. For example, being obsessed with whether or not you locked the front door is not a disorder until the third time you find yourself driving miles out of your way to check.
And not to come off as sexist, but it would seem from the experience of 13 years of marriage that it would be more of a disorder for a woman to look in a mirror and not think about changing her hair or coloring her hair or changing her appearance. Society is cruel as hell when it sets its standards for us. For gals they got Barbies with inhuman proportions and with guys they got He-Man.
I hate it when every little quirk or difficulty or dissatisfaction is considered as some sort of disorder but what you’re talking about could possibly be some form of body dysmorphic disorder. It really depends on how severe and disabling the concern with appearance is and if you suspect some kind of disorder it should really be evaluated by a professional specializing in such things.
It could be a symptom of a disorder. Can you tell me more, or give me other examples?
What happens if she doesn’t change her hair?
In some ways, I’m like that – I don’t think it’s a disorder – just think of me as a snake that likes to shed her skin often.
@Simone_De_Beauvoir But do you need to? If you don’t change your hair by, say, the 12th of every month, will you be able to go about your life on the 13th?
