The Secret Window with Johnny Depp or Edward Scissorhands.
I thought Memento was pretty weird, but very well done.
Being John Malkovich was definitely out there, too.
Eraserhead but it’s by David Lynch so I expected it to be out there.
@CyanoticWasp Being John Malkovich made me feel so uncomfortable. I didn’t want to finish watching it at some point, but I did. I love Jonze, but I’m never watching that one again.
Plan 9 from Outer Space is pretty high on my list. But how can it not be, since it’s been called the worst movie of all time?
“Funny Games” starring Naomi Watts
It was downright depraved.
@Austinlad “My friend, can your heart stand the shocking facts of grave robbers from outer space?” I love that movie.
@weeveeship Funny Games… so depraved that I couldn’t finish it. Mostly because of it’s snuff film style and total lack of substance.
I’ll second Eraserhead. That movie was fucking weird.
Female Trouble starring Divine
Hedwig and the Angry Inch
Being John Malkovich. It was just soooo creepy, and I hate being creeped out.
Pink Flamingos. Late night movie I found for free on Comcast’s OnDemand. Completely regret seeing it. Weird doesn’t even begin to describe it. More like nauseating.
Two come to mind, but they are only “weird” to use your term because of when I saw them; it was an inappropriate age. A Clockwork Orange and Strange Days.
Donnie Darko
I can’t explain it, you have to see it.
One movie I’ll never see again, Cannibal Holocaust. I even went into the chat room to ask people if I should finish it. The weirdest movie I’ve ever seen would have to be Pi. I could not figure that thing out.
I agree with @CyanoticWasp Memento was bizarre, also The Machinist for me.
Anything from John Waters. Love it, but it doesn’t get any weirder. I notice someone mentioned Pink Flamingos above, that was my first thought. Desperate Living might top it, though. Truly twisted stuff.
“Memeto” got me.
OK My day is complete. I got my ^^ fix.
It’s awfully early for the day to be complete, no? I thought we would make a ritual of saying good morning, lol.
Memento is one of my favorite movies. I don’t care for the ending, but the getting there part is fun.
Good morning to you too. Looks like our circadian rhythms are similar.
I watched Memeto without reading any reviews or expectations or having a clue. It took me too long to get it.
I definitely had to watch it twice. The first time left me very confused. Maybe that is what I liked so much about it? I feel that way about most of the movies listed in this thread… but many of them are high up on my favorites.
Gummo no Pink Flamigos or Eraser Head or Spice World or Freaks or Multiple Maniacs??? ahhhhhh I don’t know!!!!
Awwww, I haven’t seen Gummo in ages. That movie was really twisted! GA!
@TheOnlyNeffie I know I haven’t seen it in like ten years and I’m still haunted by so much of it!!
I felt that way about “Kids” for a long time, too. I hadn’t really thought about how many truly disturbing movies I’ve seen over the years, but it’s pretty crazy to think back! Some of them were really really out there. For a split second I felt a desire to find Gummo and watch it again, and then the voice of reason in my head decided against it.
@TheOnlyNeffie Gummo and Kids were made by the same guy, Harmony Korine.
@Deja_vu oh hey, I didn’t know that! Thanks for that little tidbit. It all makes so much sense now. lol
I have to add a vote for Being John Malkovich….there are plenty of weird movies out there but that one was just…..weird!!
My next one that jumps out at me was A Boy and His Dog starring Don Johnson in I believe his first movie was different weird!
Blood Sucking Freaks,I think it was called. I saw it at a drive-in and fell asleep about halfway through XD
Eyes Wide Shut with Tom Cruise.
Battle Royale is quite weird but it is still awesome! The Human Centipede is very strange, but again its an awesome cult film. It didn’t have much hype here in the UK except for word of mouth.
