How do i hang standard shelving?

i’m trying to hang up standard shelving in my apartment. how do i make sure the shelves don’t fall down?

If the shelving is sold as a kit with shelves and brackets, the package or manufacturer’s site should have good instructions.

Otherwise become familiar with wall studs
