I want to go back to Germany and see all the beautiful cities again! I went there on a student exchange and want to explore more of what I saw there. I feel I was too young to fully appreciate what that country has to offer culturally. Plus the people are incredibly warm and friendly and made my visit very pleasant!
Africa. I want to see the charismatic megafauna before it’s all gone.
India. The beautiful colors, the archetecture, the music, the culture! Not big on the food, but I can easily be overwelmed just with the thought of going.
Australia and New Zealand. From what I’ve heard, if I go to NZ, I’ll never want to leave.
@syz Africa is not a country.
I’ve been to a lot of the countries I’ve wanted to go to. There are still some, like Morocco and Tunisia I’d like to see. Egypt, perhaps. I love ancient history, so I’d like to go and absorb the atmosphere around the old ruins and temples and pyramids.
I loved New Zealand (and I didn’t leave for 15 years! be warned!) and Australia was nice to visit, but I don’t think I could live there. I love France and want to get there more often.
Australia or NZ. I want to experience a simpler life and that seems like the place for it.
For ages, I’ve wanted to go to Crete during spring break. I like island nations that are small enough to get around in by car. It has beautiful scenery, beautiful towns, some very cool beaches (many are nude beaches), and lots of history. I want to rent a house for as much time as my wife is willing to be away from work—or maybe longer with just me and the kids. I hope I get to do this before the kids are all grown up.
Greece, Scotland, Ireland and Italy. And by golly I’ll get to some or all of them one of these days.
I really want to go to Romania.
@cazzie Of course. A better response would have been “several countries on the African continent”.
U.S of A. Why? Because it’s there & oooh it’s so big & shiny :¬)
@ucme I’ve just got back from the US and I have to say that it is one of the most amazing places I have ever been to. I particularly loved Nevada!
@Leanne1986 See now you’ve gone & made me all jealous & stuff. I’m stamping my feet as I type, not fair!!
The Parthenon, the pyramids at Giza, the pyramids in Mexico, Machu Pichu, the Terra Cotta warriors in China, the Old Course at St. Andrews, the redwood forest. Soooo much to see.
India. My grandmother gave me a book about it when I was 5, and I’ve been in love with it ever since. There’s just so much color and life everywhere – it’s magical!
England. I’d actually like to live there for awhile. I have visited there already, but I can’t wait to go back.
South Africa
Everything @thekoukoureport said
Russia, especially Red Square
The Netherlands, gotta see the Van Gogh Museum
The Louvre
Really, all of Europe and Asia, tons of Africa, Australia, and South America. I’d also love to stand on Antarctica for like, 5 minutes.
@wundayatta I just see strip malls and people that can’t smile or say hi lol. I know there is great stuff in the surrounding areas, although I’m actually curious to see what it’s like to live in a different place other than the U.S.
I still interested in seeing as much of the USA as I can. I like the parts I’ve already seen.
The Netherlands and Sweden. Liberal politics that work, great scenery, and cold weather!
Egypt. Ever since I was a kid and saw National Geographic Magazine, I’ve been fascinated with tomb discoveries, ancient artifacts and architecture.
The Netherlands.
All those tall ladies and the prospect of going into a coffee shop(?) or pub(?) and getting high in a public place fascinate me.
Otherwise, for me it’s more of a matter of what places or things I’d like to see.
Even though I have no strong desire to see Israel, I’d love to see Jericho, the world’s oldest city.
I wouldn’t mind visiting France, but I’d love to see the Articles of Strasbourg, which are the first written record of the French language.
I wouldn’t mind going to Russia to see the world’s deepest, oldest, and most voluminous freshwater lake, Lake Baikal.
That area is also home to the world’s largest cat, the Siberian tiger, which I’d also love to see in a safe and unobtrusive environment.
