Can I get a beer and a beaver from the land of postcard instead?

mrentropy's avatar

I don’t see why you can’t tape a beer and beaver to a postcard.

Jude's avatar

Always have to have a wise guy or two. (Knuck knuck)

erichw1504's avatar

Wherever this “land” is, it sounds like a good time!

chyna's avatar

It’s always a good time when @mama_cakes is involved. I’m in!

Jude's avatar

Haha.. going over like a lead balloon, folks.

Dog's avatar

@mrentropy Methinks the beaver would object…

marinelife's avatar

I’ll send you one from the land of politicians.

erichw1504's avatar

How about one from the land of lurve and jellies?

mcbealer's avatar

I’m in the Emerald City now… are you in Pittsburgh?

JustmeAman's avatar

I don’t drink but wouldin’t mind a beaver. Maybe a Beaver Clever?

CyanoticWasp's avatar

I don’t think the Postal Service will deliver postcards with beaver on them. Nice idea, though.

erichw1504's avatar

@mama_cakes Is this the place you’re talking about?

erichw1504's avatar

Apparently Mel has already been there.

Jude's avatar

I am feeling awfully generous. You are all getting a beaver drinking a beer!

erichw1504's avatar

You must be part of this group?

Jude's avatar

nevermind

JustmeAman's avatar

I don’t drink beer.

erichw1504's avatar

This guy is looking for his beer.

AmWiser's avatar

I’m lost…can someone tell me what’s going on???

JustmeAman's avatar

@AmWiser

Well pull up a beaver and have a beer??? Or is that pull up a beer and have a beaver???

AmWiser's avatar

@JustmeAman hahahahaha! I still don’t know the hecks goin on!

erichw1504's avatar

@JustmeAman I don’t know, but I would have a beer before I have a beaver.

janbb's avatar

(says nothing but giggles a bit) I think you may have bit off more than you can chew, Sweetie!

JustmeAman's avatar

LOL I don’t drink so I guess I should have two beavers.

erichw1504's avatar

@JustmeAman Sounds like a good time.

JustmeAman's avatar

How do I get out of this one? LOL

jeffgoldblumsprivatefacilities's avatar

It’s Canada, people, Canada.

erichw1504's avatar

@jeffgoldblumsprivatefacilities Ooooh, this is true. They treat beavers differently over there.

SundayKittens's avatar

I’m looking for something really good for your postcard. Think banjos and cattle farms.

erichw1504's avatar

@SundayKittens Don’t forget roller coasters.

JustmeAman's avatar

How about warm fuzzies?

ANef_is_Enuf's avatar

I wasn’t at all confused until I started reading the responses. Now I have no idea what is going on.

JustmeAman's avatar

Well a warm fuzzy is almost as good as a beaver.

jrpowell's avatar

I’m totally down with a book/mixed CD exchange. I tried to organize one in the past but failed miserably.

Seek's avatar

Well, all off-topic banter aside, I would love a few new pen-pals. Who doesn’t like getting mail that isn’t someone wanting your money?

zen_'s avatar

I guess sometimes a beaver is just a beaver.

How about a postcard from the land of eternal conflict.

Jude's avatar

@zen_ Send it (PM me).

downtide's avatar

Beaver in the UK does not mean the same thing as it means in Canada and other parts of North America…

Jude's avatar

Does it mean what I think it means? If so, then it means the same thing here.

JustmeAman's avatar

I think a beaver is a beaver. I have come across a few while fishing. One scared the dickens out of me when he surfaced right next to me and slapped his tail on the water. It sounded like a rifle when off. It was the biggest beaver I have ever seen.

Seek's avatar

I’ve always wondered…

beaver = woodchuck, right? or are they two different animals?

janbb's avatar

Two different, I believe. A beaver makes dams in lakes and rivers and swims. A woodchuck lives on dry land. Not sure of the dif between a woodchuck and a groundhog though.

Kayak8's avatar

Woodchuck and Groundhog are the same two creatures (known as land beavers actually).

As for postcard madness, I would love to send a postcard.

JustmeAman's avatar

Yes a wookchuck is very different than a beaver. Good distinction ianbb.

JustmeAman's avatar

I like beavers and watch them all the time. We have them up in our mountains here and they make great dams.

downtide's avatar

@mama_cakes if what you’re thinking is not decent conversation for such polite company that we have here, then yes it’s probably the same.

MyNewtBoobs's avatar

There’s a land of lesbians??? Omg, where is the holiest of places???

janbb's avatar

@mama_cakes Gotta love them Canadians, eh?

jrpowell's avatar

@papayalily :: Your hunt is over. Portland, Or is the land of lesbians. And we have good beer too.

MissAnthrope's avatar

@mama_cakes – I giggle every time you say ‘beaver’.

Jude's avatar

@MissAnthrope The ladies love it…<exaggerated wink>

~

MyNewtBoobs's avatar

@mama_cakes Exaggerated wink, or exaggerated lick ;-P

zen_'s avatar

All of a sudden there’s beaver fever!

augustlan's avatar

I would love to do this, but I know I would flake out. I tried to be pen pals with Jane, and just couldn’t keep up my end of the bargain. :(

Jude's avatar

Well, I really didn’t plan this out when I put up this question (lol), but, people seem to be interested and have sent me their addresses, so, I’m thinking that if you do want to be on the list (send and receive postcards from jelly friends), send me your address and I can make a list. Once the list is done, I can pm the other jellies who want to be apart of it and give them your address, so, they can send out postcards to you, and you’ll will receive addresses, as well Does that make sense, lol?

kenmc's avatar

I just realized that my quip at the top was my 2,000th answer.

Feel free to chastise me for being totally off-topic.

chyna's avatar

@boots Once in 2,000 off topic answers isn’t bad. :-)

deni's avatar

Pittsburgh?!

Rarebear's avatar

You’re going to Oregon?

Jude's avatar

Postcards are going out manana, folks. :)

MissAnthrope's avatar

Oh, shoot. I guess I’d better get in the garage and try and locate my postcard collection. :D

erichw1504's avatar

Land of Beer & Beavers: “you drink the beer, you get the beavers”

Jude's avatar

Anyone receive a postcard, yet?

Seek's avatar

I got one from Chyna the other day. I’ll have a letter out to her as soon as I can buy some stamps. ^_^

Still nothing from Beaverland, though.

chyna's avatar

I got one from Chaz, none from beaverland.

Jude's avatar

Jellies, Beaverland is a little slow as far as mail goes.

I haven’t received any, yet.

chyna's avatar

@mama_cakes Very slow… I sent it 10 days ago.

Seek's avatar

Funny… Canada’s awesome about packages. I’ve shipped CDs and Vinyl to Canada that have made it there before some things I’ve sent to Georgia and Virginia. (I live in Florida).

I guess letters are another thing entirely.

Jude's avatar

@chyna I know. :( Nothing, yet.

MissAnthrope's avatar

I haven’t sent any yet because I’m an asshole. I will, though! I have to buy some postcards.

MissAnthrope's avatar

I never got any postcards, so I guess I can start feeling less bad about not managing to send any?

Did anyone else ever get one? What happened with this?
