I need eyecream, what should I look for?

Asked by MyNewtBoobs (19069points) September 28th, 2010

I woke up this morning and noticed, for the first time, bags under my eyes. So I guess it’s time to buy eye cream. What am I looking for? Any code words for “bags under eyes”? Any ingredients you recommend or think I should stay the hell away from?

I’m not an expert but I have found the Olay products to be reasonably priced, as opposed to department store products, and fairly effective. Do you really need an eye cream? I have the impression that you are fairly young. Maybe all that reading and studying is doing a number on your eyes.

@lillycoyote I’m 24. I really don’t know, I just always heard that when you didn’t get enough sleep, you got bags under your eyes. I never saw bags before, and then today I did, so I figured it’s time. I’m trying to not wait until I’m 45 to start with the skin care regiment.

The reading is normal and I’ve worn lenses of some type since I was 8. But I did stay up pretty late in a strange combo of drinking/partying/essay writing (don’t worry, I aced the essay).

@papayalily Not that your eyes aren’t important but did you do o.k on your math test too? I’m betting you probably did. Anyway, college is just not the world’s greatest beauty regimen. Never has been, never will be. On the other hand, it’s better to start taking care of your skin earlier rather than later. I have been genetically blessed with good skin but I swear by this stuff I spray it on my face before applying moisturizer. You might want to look into it. It could be a load of crap, but I’ve used it for years.

@lillycoyote Well, I failed the math test. But, so did everyone else in the class, so he let us take it again, and I got an A that time :D
Cool, thanks, I’ll try that.

When you wake up with dark bags, put ice in a washcloth on your eyes for 15 minutes.

@perspicacious I usually don’t have the time to do that.

Then, buy the eye cream at the Clinique counter.
