What instruments should I take to a manicurist?

All the places I have been to have their own tools, prepackaged to show they are sterilized. I have never been to a place that starts your own box. Very unusual concept. Do you live in a small town?

no I don’t live in a small town – yet – will be moving to one next summer. they did not do an actual manicure last time – just put on tips etc. my cuticles are yucky so I know they need to be done

Sounds like they’re trying to save money on equipment by re-using old tools on returning customers.

I’d be leery, to say the least. Doesn’t sound very sanitary. I wouldn’t go back for fear of contracting some kind of weird fungus.

What a novel idea! Soon we’ll be taking our own cookware, plates and flatware to dinner with us, I suppose. I wonder if I can get a discount on my auto maintenance if I bring my own tools for the mechanics? (I know the grocery stores have started us on this path, offering us bags for sale that we can re-use.)

I’ll have to think some more about how life will be different based on such a scenario.

cuticle cutter, but i’d ask them which to get because some are better than others; and the metal curved tool that pushes your cuticles back and a nail clipper

I have had a box started for me years ago in another state.

Everything I have read over the years suggested you take your own tools. I am kinda surprised at the reaction to my question.

i am going to take my own fingernail brush. i saw someone with her own brush there today.

I tried taking my own popcorn to a movie last night. They weren’t having it…
