Its hard to imagine being alone in this huge expanse of a universe!
And the fact that they found evidence that there had been water on Mars inspires hope in the bottom of my heart.
Yes i am a firm believer in alien life!
Note that there is a difference between Life and Sentience.
yes I really believe so, to quote the movie contact “if we are alone thats an awful lot of wasted space”
no one will never know the answer until its proven fact that there is.
God I hope so – seriously, I’d be pretty disappointed to find out that we’re it – no octopus people or 2-D civilizations? BORING
I was actualy watching a show on discovery science channel about this, and the professors and experts on the show actually said that it would be highly unlikely with all the ingredients needed to make life possible to exist, that it would be highly improbable to occur more than once, but personally I sure hope so cause thats a whole lot of wasted space if not!
“What Planet are you from?” Does that ring a bell? It’s possible.
Statistically speaking, probably.
Boy…the human race would have to have one collectively large ego to believe we were all alone. Chances are pretty good there are other forms of life out there somewhere. Any bets that we’re doing more damage to our planet than the rest? Bets on where we rank on the intelligence chart? lol Let’s not go there.
I think Earth is probably the America of our Universe. That is, we think we’re the only ones that matter and can do whatever we want.
(of course I can say that because I’m an American Earthling)
Earthica? lol
I completely agree…it’s quite possible that even our definition of “life” is narrow and exclusive – we may well be looking for only 1% of what possible “life” could be out there. Humanity is so arrogant – look how far science has come in 200 years, and we think we have experts on the universe and what we’ll find in it
If space is endless, then the probabilities are endless. If I was a betting man, I would say that life exists beyond this planet.
Actually, as Douglas Adams says, the population of the universe is zero. “It is known that there is an infinite number of worlds, but that not every one is inhabited. Therefore, there must be a finite number of inhabited worlds. Any finite number divided by infinity is as near to nothing as makes no odds, so if every planet in the Universe has a populations of zero then the entire population of the Universe must also be zero, and any people you may actually meet from time to time are merely the products of a deranged imagination.”
In response to the statement that you have to have perfect conditions.
Yes, i believe that you do need to look at our planet as an example, how many suns are in the universe and therefore how many planets can be a perfect distance from that sun and soforth.
Also, just because humans need certain things to be perfect to live, does not necessarily mean that there is not a race that is the exact opposite or that does not require all that we do
It’s also important to remember that our view of “life” is extremely narrow. We generally think of life as a carbon based form. On other planets life may exist in other forms
@ Perchik & Myself: I’m almost certain there is life on other planets and asteroids, but we’re talking microscopic bacteria. Mars and some planets had fossils of old organisms which would suggest that there is life out there, and that even if there aren’t any sentient beings, there will most likely be microbes we can make contact with.
I’m 1 million percent sure that there are alot of life on other planets (Alien beings) to those who don’t believe this you need to research more. Don’t let religion limit your understanding, they say we are the only people living in the universe well it’s not true. It’s time to wake up.
