If sex is the cause of disease, major healthcare expenses, a class of addiction; then is it any different than heroin?
Should we have government run sex rehabs?

What would these facilities offer?
Ha, what an unrealistic idea.
The government (notably the republicans) won’t fund birth control, won’t pay for sex education even though it ultimately pays for itself, they won’t pay for prenatal care, won’t supply condoms.
What makes you think that our puritanical legislators would ever appropriate a cent for safe sex facilities?
@Earthbound_Misfit haha. I could just imagine the differences in the menus of each country, or even state.

NORTH CAROLINA
All participants must PROVE beyond all doubt that they is of the opposite sex and will be visually approved via live video by the famous Reverend Marcus Pincus of Texas.
The government’s only job is to prevent any other group from taking control.
After all the government figures got their rehab there would be no vacancies at this inn.
Bill Clinton could be the commander in chief. lol
Tiger Woods? Who’s that? I haven’t heard that name in years.
@stanleybmanly Hah! Well…maybe he’s fresh out of his hole in one glory days. lol
The important thing as far as I’m concerned, is that the man is in the enviable position of probably not being required to work, golf, or do anything else for the rest of his life!
If I was a Republican I would say that God provides all the safesex facilities we need and anyone who doesn’t think so will wind up in hell.
Sex addiction is bullshit, and you don’t need a facility to have safer sex. So my answer is no. Better sex education and some way of making sure everyone has access to what they need to have safer sex is as far as they should go on this issue.
@Uberwench Sex addiction is not bullshit. The dopamine high from a state of arousal has been touted as the highest high one can get. Using sexual encounters/release compulsively, be that serial affairs, prostitutes, chronic masturbation, porn addiction. Compulsive sexual behavior is not any different than the same behaviors drug users engage in.
All have an increasing need for their drug of choice, all engage in high risk behaviors to get that drug and all need increasing levels of their drug of choice to try and replicate the original high. Sex, drugs, booze, same rope, different ends.
@Ltryptophan I might need ice cream intervention. Man, have I wimped out since my wild youth. From sex, drugs and rock-n-roll to just wanting a bowl of ice cream. Such is the way the cookie of maturity crumbles. Hey, I might have to have cookies with my ice cream. Double your pleasure, double your fun. lol
@Coloma Sex addiction is bullshit, and any qualified psychologist will tell you that. Most people that claim sex addiction use it as an excuse for bad decision making. And all documented cases of compulsive sexual behavior have been a symptom of some other problem. The only thing close to sex addiction that there is scientific evidence for is hypersexuality (which has unfortunately been referred to as “sex addiction” in the past, but refers to something different than what people generally mean when they use that term).

Oh, what the hell. Why don’t we just have the government do our fucking for us? They’re screwing us anyway. All we have to do is make it legal.
