Could automated cars have personal drones?

To make cars more safe? Or do we have it already?

You can have a drone follow a person or a vehicle automatically now. You send the drone up to the desired height, look at your screen and select the target to track, and it will follow that person or vehicle wherever it goes. Is that what you mean?

@LuckyGuy Yes. Also extra drones to keep an eye on the traffic.

How about a squadron of drones to fly combat air partrol around me, which attack and destroy or capture all other drones they spot?

There would eventually be too many, as automated cars grow in number. Maybe if they were really small, it would help…

@RedDeerGuy1 Drones have limited flight time. 30 minutes would be considered a very long time. Maybe the car could have a non-slip landing pad with an electromagnet integrated into the roof for tight capture and release.
