Would you like to have a choice of giving a negative vote in an election?
Either one positive or one negative. For those who are undecided, but don’t want the incumbent elected again?

I’ve always said that we should have the option of voting “NONE OF THE ABOVE” when both candidates are NOT worthy of my vote!!! I don’t like voting for one of the third party candidates, but it’s the ONLY other option that I’m given to vote against 2 lousy choices!!!
In every election, somebody tallies the “ voter turnout”.
My guess is the number of people who did not turn out is a pretty good indicator of negative sentiment.
I’m not sure what the point would be.
No point in it. Vote for the opposition or don’t vote at all. The demographics will tell the tale.
^ Sometimes the opposition is as bad or maybe even worse than the one you’re voting against. I prefer to NOTvote for the lesser of the 2 evils!!!
I’d like a “do over” option on the ballot. If “do over” wins the majority we have another election without any of the current people on the ballot.

What then? An election with the candidates who couldn’t muster enough support to win their party’s primary?
I really like @ARE_you_kidding_me‘s idea & @Darth_Algar has a good point. I think it should be mandatory that it will be with ALL NEW candidates!!! In 2016, the Reps had a full field of hopefuls; & now with 2020, the Dems have plenty also. The prevailing political parties don’t always nominate the best of what they have to offer & we’re stuck with just 2 options. They frequently bump a qualified candidate to offer us trash. It’s like, IF you’re not willing to play ball the way we expect, we just won’t pass you the ball!!! The lesser of the qualified are willing to play ball in order to get the prestige!!!
What are you considering “all new” candidates, though? Candidates who didn’t even run in the primary? Candidates who have never ran for that office before?
There are voting systems that allow you to do the equivalent to what you want. Ranked choice asks you to rank the candidates 1 to n for n candidates. If there is someone you really dislike, rank the candidate last. Another system (I forget the name) asks you to choose all acceptable candidates. Just choose everyone else.
@Darth_Algar It’s pretty simple, any candidate that made it on the final ballot is disqualified. People running in the primaries who did not make it would still be eligible.

So do we hold another primary season followed by another general election? And if the prevailing vote is “none of the above” again do we repeat the process again and again and again? I mean this could go on for years.

I would say a one shot re-do is called for there.
