What should I do with my fainting spells?

Asked by RedDeerGuy1 (24882points) February 25th, 2020

I am sick this week and my fainting spells hurt (10/10) if I fight to stay standing. Should I let my self drop to the floor and avoid the pain.
I have seen heart specialists and a neurologist. Its particularly painful getting up to pee or drink a little bit of water.
I am being looked over by my assistant nurse if I need a ride to a doctors appointment.

Don’t drop to the floor, but sit yourself down.

What did the doctors say is causing your fainting spells? Is it your meds, or something else like blood pressure.

Hitting the floor hurts too. If you are near a wall or latched door, you could try a lean and slide.

I’m a little scared hearing this. I hope you are well and sturdy soon!

@Patty_Melt I try to reach through the darkness for the closest wall. Some times I go blind for a couple of seconds.

@zenvelo Dr.s think it might be orthostatic hypotension. They are just guessing. It is slowly getting worse since at 12 years old when my growth spirt triggered.

Hitting the floor, happens.

It’s what we do afterwards, that defines us…

You have to collect yourself. You have to dig deep, and pull yourself up…

I know it’s hard. I’ve been there…

It takes immeasurable strength. But. It can be done. And it makes the next fall, something that you know that you can sustain…

Do you want to spend your life, on the floor?
I don’t. I refuse to…

Push yourself up, and splash some water on your face.

My heart aches, thinking of you on the floor.

You get up. Not just because of you. You get up, because of others too…

Do you think any of your fellow jellies, want to see you defeated, and lying on the floor?

Hell NO…

Dig deep, and get off of the floor. Don’t you dare, let life keep you down. Take some deep breaths, and push yourself up.

Don’t make me cry, for you. Make me proud…

Get up. And fight…

Fight your fear, and pain. And get your ass up. You can do it…

You can’t help dropping. I get that. Trust me… But. You CAN’T give up…. You get up. And remember, that people love you.

You can do it… It may take a few minutes, but then, you pull up the powerful, smart person you really are, and fucking get that victory.

You are not alone. You are loved.
Don’t EVER forget that….

You get up, and you find a way, to keep going. Don’t surrender, to this universe.

You are more powerful, and important, than you may realize.

I know that we are thousands of miles away, but my hand, is always here…
There are times when I may need your hand…

Keep hope alive.

Peace n love….

You MUST find the strength to get up. To keep going.

@RedDeerGuy1 I don’t know much about orthostatic hypotension, but it does say that dehydration can make it worse. Best of luck, friend, be careful.

^^^^^Given what @KNOWITALL says, fighting dehydration means, don’t drink sodas, not even diet sodas. Stay away from caffeinated drinks such as Red Bull.

Drink water, and make sure you are getting potassium in your diet (i.e., bananas) to keep your electrolytes in balance.

Grimmy what ARE you on about?
This is a medical issue. A speech about a van down by the river is inappropriate here.

First, sit down, don’t wait until you fall. At the very least, lean on a wall or counter, If possible, use a walker or keep one handy.
Next, keep a liter or more of water near you at all times and refill it (drink it) every two hours.
Also, consider splitting your (healthy) meals in two sessions a couple of hours apart.

Throw them away.

Replace the fainting spell with this health spell
“I am joy and health;
I am power.
Every day I am closer and closer to being healthy.
As the moon is waning, so this ailment is waning..
I am joy and health.
I am power.”

Patty. Stress, can make things worse. I know RDG, is often stressed.
My stress has put me in the ER before.
And I didn’t have any medical advice, but I can offer my support…
Flag my first response, if you must…
