Does anyone else text their family members or partners even if they’re in the same house?

My ex and I still live together and that’s what we do sometimes, because we’re very lazy.
We each have our own rooms, so we’ll just text each other really quick instead of talking in person.

I don’t. My wife does it once in a blue moon. I won’t respond. If you can’t be bothered to walk the 20–30 feet to come see me, then it’s not that important.
Of course. It is 2020. :D
We do sometimes, even though it’s not a big house.
My daughter won’t usually text me because she knows I’m not usually on top of my phone when I’m at home. If I’m really tired and not wanting to get up, I’ll text her occasionally.
I will text my son if I don;t know if he is awake or not. Sometimes I don;t want to wake him.
My girlfriend’s daughter often has her over the ear headphones on, so we will text her to come to dinner or breakfast.
Yes, well instant messenger through Facebook. We are on separate floors when we do it, and already on a computer or tablet.
Only if it is an item for the grocery shopping list.
I don’t text but have written notes that I’ve slipped under the door or flew over to him in the form of a paper airplane.
It’s so much better than the stone tablets I used to send him.
Sometimes, if I can’t find someone. I will at least look for them first. It’s a big house and yard, though. We have landline phones in different rooms that work as intercoms. I remember as a kid thinking that seemed futuristic; now it seems really dated. But it can be helpful. :)
A friend of mine and his wife do all the time.
I really dislike texting, and. Mrs Squeeky doesn’t text at all she dislikes it worse than I do.
My text tone is the opening bars to the Good the Bad & the Ugly theme. My wife found it intensely amusing to text me, in 20min intervals, the last time I watched the movie.
Bear in mind It’s 3hrs long & imagine how bloody irritating this became!
I only have to be joking around with them, but otherwise no.
I don’t. I live by myself & my dog doesn’t have a phone!!!
I have a few times, mostly for funsies.
Sometimes with a teen, it is necessary.
There were times my daughter would not answer my knock, and her door would be locked.
“I’m not kidding. Come get this trash, now.”
I do it to be cute sometimes. Send a love note or sometimes a funny link or message.
Once in a while on a more serious matter, because I’m lazy to get up, but that’s really very rare.
