I suppose a whole lot more people buy a Ford due to the prices but, if you could choose would you rather have a Mercedes or a Ford and why?

Yes I’d rather have a Mercedes.
Oh Lord won’t you buy me a Mercedes Benz….
In all reality, I’d take the Ford. Parts are cheaper, which would fit my budget better.
I’d love a little soft top Mercedes coupe though, for a few days haha!
I’ve never had a Mercedes but I have owned a Ford and I really liked my Ford. Plus it lasted for over 300K miles. I drove that puppy into the ground. My sister had a Mercedes for a while and all I can remember about it was that every time it broke down and ended up in the shop that she made the comment that you pay for the name that’s on the parts. She didn’t keep it very long before she traded it in for a Jeep. She thought people would be looking up to her because she drove a Mercedes, but she learned that she was the only on that cared. We didn’t live near each other so I never got to ride in it. So, I don’t know if I would want one or not. I can say that I would buy another Ford
When it comes to vehicles it’s all budget and personal preference, I bought a Nissan truck because a toyota of the same truck was $10,000 more.
I would never buy an American brand car. They are poorly made.
A ten year old Ford is a rarity; a ten year old Mercedes is just getting comfy.
@zenvelo And my Volvo is 12 years old although I’m not quite sure who owned the company by then.
@zenvelo Wow, that is opposite my experience haha! I have a 15 yr old Ford still here and drove a classic 78 truck for quite awhile.
I would prefer a Mercedes from before 1998, when Chrysler Corporation bought the company.
I like European manual transmissions, and I tend to prefer European handling designs and aesthetics. I do not like automatic transmissions.
Except that would make the car sort of on the old side, and I’m tired of maintaining (er… paying to have someone else maintain) cars.
My friends all drive Porche’s…
…I must make amends. I worked harrrd all my lifetime, no help from my friends. Oh Lord, wontcha buy me….a Mercedes Benz.
Shop hourly labor rate for Mercedes are higher than Ford or GM. and they are in just as often as any car.
So, I have always turned down buying a Mercedes. My husband brings it up, and I say no. Never really identified with the brand. I currently have a Ford truck, and it’s been pretty good, although it has had a few things that needed fixing. This is the problem with American cars, but it’s better than 30 years ago. I love the comfort of my Ford, and find most Ford cars and trucks to be very comfortable.
I tend to like driving something where I don’t stand out too much and don’t attract attention.
Having said that I also have a Porsche, which tends to attract attention unless I’m in a place that has lots of luxury cars driving around.
Why is the choice Mercedes or Ford? Seems like an unusual choice.
Mercedes is over rated and over priced. A Ford will take you just as far and a lot cheaper.
A Ford will save you money come repair time. And the parts are readily available.
Assuming I could afford a Mercedes I’d take the Mercedes. But since I cannot then I guess it’s a Fucking Old Rebuilt Dodge for me.
@chyna my daughter drives a Porshe SUV and to me it looks like an ordinary white car. Except “Porshe” is in pretty gold letters.
@Darth_Algar You’d pick a Ford over a Chevy or another GM car? I feel for you, man…
