Did you hear that David Crosby of CSN & Y died?

He was 81. I loved their music and have seen him talking in documentaries since. This one hits home.

Such a sad loss of another great musician. I have seen him countless times, loved his outlook on life. His voice and harmonies are amazing (especially with Nash).

Today I am cooking my spaghetti sauce. I make enough for about 20 servings.
When making the sauce, playing music is very important. What I will play is always in question.
Today it wasn’t.

I had heard CS&N on the radio many times, but I first saw them sing live on the Dinah Shore show. I was blown away at how incredibly and beautifully their voices melded. Remarkable.

I liked his music and it seemed he would go on forever. He was a part of my youth along with many of his contemporaries and I bow may head in respect for his passing. His death is a loss that fills me with sadness.

I see it shining plain,
The happy highways where I went
And cannot come again.”

I saw him and Graham Nash at a concert they did in the summer of ‘75, at the Universal Amphitheater.

My favorite tune in their set was To the Last Whale.

Later during the concert, they were joined by Art Garfunkel. I remember Crosby saying something like, “Wow, gravity has no effect on Art’s voice!” It was such a poetic tribute to a guy who so effortlessly hit the high notes.

He also provided background vocals (with Jackson Browne) on the Indigo Girls song “Galileo”.
