What happens if the laptop a DJ is using just freezes or dies on him?
Does that happen in clubs in the middle of a song?
what do they do?
thanks

Put some discs on the turntables and do it the good old-fashioned way.
People will go to a different club.
iPod plugged in-line to the mixer with the set in mixed mode; press play at the same time as you start the mix. Most DJ software plugs into a hardware mixer that will still pass audio even if the laptop locks up. You flip a switch and (almost) without missing a beat the iPod plays essentially the same songs in your set.
If you practice DJing the same set, then you can record yourself practicing, and use that master audio file as the backup on the iPod. This I how pro digital DJs do it.
Interesting question. I just got a full visual of this happening and it was pretty hilarious. I imagine everyone would just stand around and crickets would start chirping. I would probably keep dancing.
Seems like a good time for a beatboxing competition/danceoff.
Everyone will race to sit down. The one that doesn’t get a chair loses.
Shout to the audience….......“the drinks are on the house.” you may lose your rear in paying for the drinks, but you will at least save face with the audience. after two drinks, they will not care. in the meantime, your equipment is up and ready to go, again.
Been there, done that. john
At first while I was reading the title, It thought it said “What happens if the DJ dies midsong?” Boy, did I do a double take.
